Self-remake of the German movie by Til Schweiger, honey in the head out in our cinemas on march 20. Nick Nolte plays the role of a man suffering from Alzheimer’s disease. Registry change for Nick Nolte. Remake of the German film Honig im Kopf, the actor and director Til Schweiger (seen in particular in Inglourious Basterds), honey full head unveils its trailer. The film tells the story of a man suffering from Alzheimer’s disease that is traveling to Venice, on the traces of his past, with his 10 year-old girl. Real triumph in Germany upon its release in 2014, the film is very important in the eyes of the filmmaker – whose grand-father was suffering from this disease. Til Schweiger explains that to remake his film for an international audience, with american actors, was a way of reaching a broader audience. He said : “All the films I’ve written and produced to evoke the same theme, in other words, the values of family, love and friendship. We wanted to not only tell the story of a man suffering from Alzheimer’s disease. We wanted to show that the pathology affects the entire family and that each member of the household reacts differently. So, in the end, it is not a film about Alzheimer’s disease. It is a film about family, about trust, about the links that we tie or are revived, and on love.” Side casting, Matt Dillon plays the role of the father (that was Til Schweiger himself in the film), Emily Mortimer interprets the mother, while Nick Nolte epitomizes the grand-father. It is a register that the actor of 48 hours had not yet explored. The role of Tilda, the granddaughter of the hero, is held by Sophia Lane Nolte, the daughter of Nick Nolte. Til Schweiger explains his choice :”I was getting ready to meet girls for the role, and I realized that Sophia could very well play Tilda, but her mother wanted to take away the trays, so I chatted with her for three hours. I told him about my own journey, I told him that I had directed for my daughter, who was camping elsewhere Tilda in the original movie, that we lived in privileged moments when we were shooting with his own child. And she has accepted.” A choice is clever because the chemistry between the two protagonists of the film already exists. Honey full the head will be released in our cinemas on march 20.
